Life  takes  some  funny  twists  and  turns…

When I came back from my vacation in Italy, where my family and I have been staying for three weeks, I checked the mail for my mother and father, not expecting to find anything for me.  I actually didn’t want to do it, because the staples of commercials and old newspapers were huge, but my parents were really tired from driving eight hours all through the night and I slept almost the whole time.  I started going through it and after a while I found a letter with my name on it and in bright red was written down: You MAY Have Already Won!” I couldn’t think of any competition or lottery that I have been participating on, so I was pretty sure it was just a stupid joke of one of my friends. I opened the envelope and then I saw it: Again in a bright red, but with a larger font size stood the words: “You Won 500.-!” Now I totally remembered, on which competition I took part: it was a, by the school organized, music contest. That was so awesome!  I sang a duet with one of my best friends, because our singing teacher told us we should for a better grade, but we never thought we’d win it!

Whenever he mentions Paris ... I have to think of this terrible summer break two years ago when my mom and I went to Paris for three days. We lived in a really small hotel room, that was awful hot and didn’t have windows, but it had a TV and a little refrigerator. When I opened it, there was a can of jam in it: I was pretty excited because I love jam and so we only had to buy some bred and then we could eat it for breakfast. So we decided to go and buy some groceries as muesli, milk, some water, salad, some ham and bred. After, we went to a little restaurant and the food was actually really good: my mom had a salad with smoked salmon and I had baked baguettes with tomatoes and mozzarella. But then in the night my mother felt really bad, because the salmon was rotten and so she got a food poisoning. I couldn’t sleep either, because it was so hot and my mother ran all ten minutes to the bathroom.  In the morning, my mother finally slept, I couldn’t sleep anymore, so I decided to make a jam bred, but after the first bite I spit it out, because there were some pieces of mould on it that I didn’t see before. So I went to a little bakery where I got some chocolate croissants and went back to my hotel room, where my mother was already waiting for me. She still felt really bad and so we stayed in the room and watched French TV. At lunch time I went to a kebab store right around the corner of the hotel, I also went to the store again bought some yogurt for my mom. The rest of the day we were just sitting around, doing nothing, even if we actually wanted to see “le tour Eiffel” and “L’Arc de Triomphe”. The next day my mother felt much better and we decided to get ready to see “La Louvre”, but when we wanted to go out of the restaurant the receptionist stopped us and told us that we can’t go out because of a storm warning: he told us that it is not saved outside and we should stay at the hotel.  I was so mad, because this was our only full day and tomorrow we had to leave in the morning. Thanks god the receptionist was so nice and cooked something for us, he also gave us a documentary about Paris that we could watch.  So my mother and I were in Paris but we didn’t see anything from the city…

New Year`s Resolutions

Lots of people do New Year`s resolutions, I don`t. Not because I`m too lazy, just because when i did it in the past, I`ve never reached my goals, because I set them too high. My goal this semster is to learn English as good as I can and just have fun, because after my year, the school in Switzerland will be really hard and I won`t have that much time to hang out with my friends.
